Forget Brent's -- go to Weiler's! Truly authentic (much of the staff actually Jewish) and none of Brent's sports-bar-type decor. Granted, the blintzes at Brent's are nearly the best in the world, while those at Weiler's have a strange cinnamon flavor. But Weiler's sandwiches are much less greasy, and it feels truly haimisch. There's one near Brent's but also one in West Valley.

I am sick to death of restaurants that are all image with decor to die for, valet parking, nicely mannered wait/ers-tresses and SHIT FOR FOOD!
What, exactly, consitutes shit for food? Generally speaking you'll know it when you see it and taste it but sometimes that's not the case and it's not until later when you're in the grips lethargism and a nasty heachache. What makes SHIT FOR FOOD?
Some of the things that make for bad quality food are: 1)MSG, a sure-fire shortcut to a raging headache and/or
a debilitating attack of sleepiness and loginess. Most restaurants use it. Avoid it like the plague and insist (by telling them you'r allergic to it--who isn't?!) that your food not have it; 2)inferior, mystery beef usually identifiable by a rainbow-like irridescent glow. Often the beef is a thinly-cut gnarly mass of knotts, gristles, and tumors that passes for such things as "Italian Beef" and "Bulgogi" to name a few. Meat often comes from huge restaurant suppliers (like PFC Foods) and is riddled with preservatives and tenderizers, all of which make you feel the way you do soon after a meal; 3) extenders are so commonly used in pizza restaurants to get the most bang for the buck from numbers-crunching managers and these extenders will also make you sick; 4) salads are not as healthy as you think because so many restaurants spray them with chemicals to make them stay crispy and on day 2 they spray them even more. FUGGEDABOUT IT! Make sure you are going to a restaurant that really cares about PURE food and not just plate presentation aesthetics and you won't have to suffer from the afternoon blahs and sleepiness that set in when you get back to work--that's all caused by chemical food contamination. Good, healthy food actually GIVES you energy and feels you with the feeling of well-being. If your restaurant does not serve food that does this then find a healthier restaurant and insist on organic foods. Best of all--stay home and fix all your own meals out of pure organic, vegetables, beef, chicken and fish.
