El Nido
Nicaraguan indo viejo is good here. They have exciting drinks.

Magic Carpet
8566 West Pico Boulevard, ph: 310.652.8507
Yemeni ultrakosher place with ethnographic decor ala wedding diorama. Melawach is delicious pancake with buttery/crispy/layered texture that's very lovable. Fine eggplant dips, a destination worth the trip.

Oki Dog
5056 W Pico Blvd, 323 938-4369
Latino chefs, Japanese-American concept, African-American eaters. At some point, Oki Dog's storied history is less important than the giant tortilla filled with two hotdogs, chili, pastrami and gluey American cheese. Nothing is more unhealthy than Oki Dog but its hard not to like.

Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles (Pico)
5006 West Pico Boulevard, ph: 323.934.4405
Long live Roscoe's where chicken and waffles come on the same plate. A great place for the smothered food group. Stymie's Choice is chicken livers and grits to test the hardiest appetite - I finished!

Sky's Gourmet Tacos
5408 W. Pico Blvd., 323-932-6253
Amusing African American overstuffed tacos with sweet lemonade. Good stuff.

Wi Jammin
5103 West Pico Boulevard, (323) 965-9809
Jamaican joint on Pico that ran out of everything except tasty jerk chicken when I visited.
